We support preschools, schools and special schools (for example, a school for sight-impaired, blind and deaf children). Our support allows these institutions to be renovated or expanded, depending on their needs. We also provide support for athletic and cultural activities. We have helped improve the learning and teaching conditions for more than 1,700 students and their educators. That, in turn, has had a positive effect on the general learning climate. After the severe hurricanes of 2009, we helped more than 30 rural schools rebuild. The Cuban education system is a model for Latin American nations and we would like to provide it with lasting, sustainable support so that future generations can continue to benefit.
In addition, Camaquito supports vocational schools, including Camagüey’s “Escuela de Oficios,” where young Cubans are trained for professions in various trades and crafts.
